Princess Diana met the cast of Alice in Wonderland backstage after the English National Ballet’s production at the Coliseum in London on March 19, 1996. She smiled broadly when she met her counterpart, the “QUEEN OF HEARTS.” She spoke animatedly with the cast and asked them how they managed to dance in their cumbersome costumes. At the time, she was Patron of the English National Ballet.

Alice in Wonderland was choreographed by Derek Deane and the score was arranged by Carl Davies. The English National Ballet Royal Premiere for Diana Princess Of Wales at the London Coliseum in 1996 made several national tours. The ballet was packed with visual illusions. It was nominated for best new dance production in the Olivier Awards 1996.
