Princess would be Facebook friends with Camilla

By AMY OLIVER

Had she lived Princess Diana would be Facebook friends with arch-nemesis Camilla Parker-Bowles, have 10million Twitter followers and an ‘it’s complicated’ relationship status.

At least that’s what Tina Brown’s Newsweek thinks in a front-page lead article that imagines what the late Princess would be doing at 50.

The piece hits newsstands days before July 1, which would have been Diana’s milestone birthday.

PRINCESS DIANA AT 50

BRUCE OLDFIELD, ONE OF HER FORMER DESIGNERS, GIVES US AN IDEA OF WHAT SHE WOULD BE LIKE TODAY

AS what would have been Diana, Princess of Wales’ 50th birthday approaches, many of her friends are reflecting on how her life, style, and enviable looks might have evolved had she lived.

“As she approached her 50th birthday, I don’t think it would have troubled her,” Bruce Oldfield said. “Diana had found her feet shortly before she died and I think she’d have embraced life on her own terms. She’d have found being 50 quite funny.”

“She had good genes, and would have looked good,” Oldfield added. “She looked after herself. She was keen on the old gym, and she’d have made the best of what she had, but I’m sure she would have got a few things done, like many women of her age.”

“I doubt she would have stayed in the UK,” Oldfield told HIGH50.COM. “I could see her in the United States, but not Europe – for a start she didn’t speak any languages. But New York, yes, I could see her walking down Fifth Avenue and being allowed to get on with it… Whatever happened, she would have remained close to her boys.”
