13 MARCH 1987 PRINCESS DIANA VISITS BARNARDO’S HIGH CLOSE SCHOOL IN WOKINGHAM, BERKSHIRE

image image Barnardo’s High Close School, located in Wokingham in Berkshire, is a mixed residential and day school catering for 7-18 year olds who have a range of special educational needs arising from complex social, emotional and behavioral difficulties.
image As President of Barnardo’s, HRH Princess Diana visited the school on. March 13, 1987.  Following this visit, further development and expansion took place with the official 2002 opening presided over by The Earl of Listowel. Then in 2007, High Close received a further Royal visit when HRH Duchess of Cornwall, now President of Barnardo’s, visited the school.

  1. Hi there, could you tell me where the photo’s were sourced from in this blog? I attended High Close during Diana’s ’87 visit and appear in one of these photo’s. Myself and other former pupils would like to obtain copies of the images but have failed to find the original content. Many thanks.
