ARRIVAL IN SIAM, LAND OF THE WHITE ELEPHANT
Prince Charles & Princess Diana being welcomed by HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn on the occasion of their visit to Thailand as guests of Their Majesties the King and Queen, at the Air Terminal Headquarters Building of the Royal Thai Air Force, Bangkok.  They bring 60th birthday greetings to King Bhumibol Adulyadej whom they will see the next day in Chiang-mai.   The couple met dignitaries at the airport, had refeshments and were whisked away through the choked streets of Bankok to their hotel, the famous Oriental Hotel, on the banks of the Chao Phya River which has hosted many luminaries in its long history.   During their stay in Bankok, the couple will tour the golden spires and the ornate temples of the Bankok Royal Palaces.
